First American Credit Union, Beloit, Wis., longtime 25 year member Wayne Hayelan has donated his 60-year-old, 48-star American flag to the credit union's Rockton branch to preserve and display a part of history. Hayelan received the flag as an award in 1945 while attending the Northwestern Military and Naval Academy in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. After graduation, Wayne served in the National Guard in the 44th Quarter Master. In 1952, he was stationed in Nuremberg, Germany as a Corporal in the Army of Occupation.
