WESTBROOK, Maine – Thirty-six Maine credit unions will receive a record $65,000 in community grants to distribute to hunger organizations of their choice in their own communities. “Because credit unions are local, this is an opportunity to reward their efforts by providing them with grants to help hunger organizations in their own communities. Our local credit unions know their communities better than anyone else so they make sure that these grants have a maximum benefit,” said Maine CUL Governmental & Public Affairs Manager Jon Paradise. “Because almost every Maine community, large and small, has an organization dedicated to helping provide assistance to people who are hungry, this Campaign is able to make an impact across the state. This is a Campaign that truly captures the spirit of Maine people helping Maine people, from Madawaska to York.”
