NAFCU is justkicking off its Annual Conference and the group is alreadyannouncing some of the speakers for its Congressional Caucus, torun from Sept. 26 through 29 in Washington, D.C. Radio Commentatorand former Iowa Congressman Fred Grandy, better known as Gopherfrom The Love Boat, will keynote the event. Senator Mike Crapo(R-Idaho), who is charged with drafting the regulatory relieflegislation, will be speaking, as well the lead Democrat on theCredit Union Regulatory Improvements Act (H.R. 3579), CongressmanPaul Kanjorski (D-Pa.). NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson and BoardMember Debbie Matz have accepted the invitation to speak. FederalReserve Board Governor Ed Gramlich will also be making anappearance.
