Hudson RiverCommunity Credit Union, Corinth, N.Y., has celebrated its 50th Anniversary by hosting a Youth Member Day at the Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom in Lake George. Some 1,086 youth members and their families turned out for the day and received free admission,lunch, refreshments and tee shirts. The credit union offers a variety of youth programs including the Johnny Appleseed Junior Ecology Club (ages 12 and younger); Real Cents (ages 13-17); and the College Bound Program (ages 18-25). Western Credit Union, Seattle, Wash., has hit the milestone of 50 years of service. To celebrate the credit union threw 50s' themed parties at all branches. Throughout the week members could enter a drawing for a Johnny Rockets gift certificate and 50′s music played in the lobby. Posters displayed memories of 1954 including what music was popular, favorite TV shows, what everyday items such as a home and gas cost, and what events took place. California Coast Credit Union, San Diego, is celebrating its 75th Diamond Anniversay. Festivities will continue throughout the year in the form of several events and activities. For example, this year CCCU has increased the amount it usually awards by offering students one $7,500 scholarship in addition to its four $1,000 scholarships. From its humble beginnings the credit union has evolved and now has some $750 million in assets and serves 68,000 members.
