RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - The California Credit Union Leaguerecently won five honors in CUNA's annual Pro and BlockbusterAwards. The League took first place awards for last year'sadvertising campaign that was run on Los Angeles-area radio withads in which mythical creatures like Bigfoot dispelledmisconceptions about credit unions. CCUL took top place in theBlockbuster Awards for best radio spot and best advertisingcampaign budgeted more than $10,000 for the 2003 Los AngelesCooperative Advertising Campaign. In the Pro Awards, it earnedfirst place for the best piece on the uniqueness of CUs for its"Credit Union Careers" brochure. CCUL also received honorablementions in the best print materials categories with three or morecolors for the 2003 edition of WestScan, its annual industry andeconomic report; and in the best league magazine category for itsmonthly flagship publication, Credit Union Digest. The awards wereannounced June 29 at the American Association of Credit UnionLeague's (AACUL) annual Public Relations/Communications andGovernmental Affairs Specialists Conference in Washington, D.C.
