BETHESDA, Md. – Eleven credit unions in the Buffalo, New York-area have joined ATM National's Allpoint network since March, the company said, marking the first time that a number of credit unions from a single area have joined at almost the same time. The credit unions are the $49 million Buffalo Postal Community CU; the $8 million Cheektowaga Central FCU; the $18 million Erie County Employees CU; the $23 million Hamburg Central FCU; the $20 million Kenmore Teachers FCU; the $14 million Lancaster Central CU; the $23 million Local 424 FCU; the $41 million Riverside CU; the $19 million Sweet Home FCU; the $85 million Western Division CU, and the $29 million Westinghouse FCU. Ben Psillas, president of the network which provides ATM access surcharge free to the cardholders, said that approximately 20 Buffalo area credit unions had joined together to invite Allpoint to present its network opportunity. Eleven of those 20 signed up and received a break on their pricing because they had more or less come in as a group Although transactions at Allpoint machines are surcharge free to the cardholders, credit unions pay a fee to enroll their cards in the network.
