ST. PAUL, Minn. – Brian Volkmann, senior manager of real estate for Affinity Plus CU, was selected to serve on the Freddie Mac Credit Union Advisory Board. Volkmann's responsibilities on the board will include "counseling on discussion topics representing Affinity Plus' member base fairly and accurately; proactively identifying and sharing trends and changes in the financial industry; and making recommendations and sharing in the development of solutions to emerging financial industry trends." Volkmann said the process to obtain a mortgage is currently "very lengthy. I hope to see it become a much more individualized process that focuses on members' needs as opposed to the financial industry's needs." Volkmann has been with Affinity Plus CU since June 2000.
