ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA Public Affairs Specialist Molly Schar has announced she will be leaving the agency to lead the World Council of Credit Unions' advocacy efforts. Schar had been with the agency just over two years. Her last day at the agency will be Friday, May 21. "My time at NCUA has taught me about the importance of safe and sound institutions, about the credit union spirit and about the difference credit unions can make for individuals and communities," Schar said. "I am honored to join WOCCU-an organization I believe has an enormous impact on the lives of the world's poorest people-and to convey WOCCU's `quality credit unions for everyone' vision to our country's leaders." Beginning May 24, she will join WOCCU as governmental affairs manager, taking Mike Beall's old position who is now president and CEO of the Maryland Credit Union League. In her new position, Schar will be dealing with Congress and federal government agencies to benefit international credit union development.
