NEW CASTLE, Del. – More than 200 participants attended the Delaware Credit Union League’s annual meeting April 22-24 convening to celebrate milestones, network and hear strategies for building a stronger workforce. The League’s keynote speaker, Darrell “Coach D” Andrews, spoke on three keys to adopting a “Thank God, It’s Monday” workforce – having an institutional infrastructure in place to create a positive workforce; building a high performance work TEAM (“totally exceptional attitudes matter); and making motivation a management priority. Delaware State Representative Donna Stone defined her role as the chairman of the financial services standing committee of the National Council of State Legislators. Stone is active in helping to set policy in the areas of insurance, banking, and securities and hopes to promote financial services to underserved areas and to increase financial literacy. In the uncontested League election, three incumbent board members were re-elected: Cheryl Chilcutt of Chestnut Run FCU, Jim Everhart of Louviers FCU, and Joel Romaine of DPL FCU. The League also recognized those CUs that are celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2004: Milford Memorial FCU – 35 years; Provident FCU – 40 years; Chestnut Run FCU – 45 years; First State Refinery FCU – 45 years; Sussex County FCU – 45 years; and Wilmington Newspaper FCU – 50 years.
