SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Tapping into the interior design makeovercraze Sunmark Federal Credit Union has launched the "Beyond Design"promotion. "Beyond Design came about as we looked for anopportunity to promote Sunmark's home equity and mortgage loanproducts," said SFCU Marketing Manager Bill Jenkins. "We decidedearly on to make sure the prize was big enough to overcome realremodeling and decorating challenges. It worked, because wereceived more than 200 entries and more than 1,600 people castvotes for the four finalists." To enter, contestants detailed theirparticular design problem with photographs throughout the month ofMarch. Four finalists were selected and posted to the Sunmark FCUWeb site, where voters were encouraged to select their favorite andgiven a chance to win $1,000 just for voting. Linda Gallagher wasnamed the grand prize winner and received $10,000 to spend on herdining and living room remodel. In addition, Gallagher will havethe services of Delmar Construction and Interior Design LeadDesigner/President Linda Stockwell. The public will be able tofollow progress on Linda's rooms through Sunmark's Web site:www.sunmarkfcu.org. The remaining three finalists were awarded $250Home Depot gift cards and the $1000 prize was awarded to GwendolynLawson. Contest co-sponsors included Delmar Construction andInterior Design, local radio station B95 FM, The Albany Times-Unionand Lamar Advertising.
