RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Riverside County's Credit Union has received approval from the California Department of Financial Institutions to expand its field of membership beyond Riverside County. The $600 million credit union is now approved to expand to all of San Diego County, the San Bernardino County cities of Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario and Fontana and the Orange County cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Irvine and Santa Ana. "Although RCCU has received this approval, it is unlikely that we will be opening any branches in these communities in the immediate future," said Mark Hawkins, president/CEO of Riverside County's CU. "We will be exploring our best options for expansion into these areas in coming months."
