COLUMBUS, Ind. – Past Indiana Credit Union Foundation Chair and League Chair Judith M. James has died at the age of 62 of complications from surgery on April 10. "Judy was admired as a wonderful person and credit union leader and will be missed very much," said ICUL President John McKenzie. "She personified the best in credit union ideals and individual qualities that we will always look up to and remember. We will continue to benefit from all that she accomplished and the example she set." Among her many accomplishments, James was the first chair of the Foundation, which was established in 2002. She also served as Indiana CU League Chair from 1987 to 1989 and had been a board member from 1980 to 1999. James was also an active member of the CUNA board of directors from 1995 to 1997. For her longtime dedication to furthering the credit union movement James was inducted into the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame in 1990. "She was much too young and too energetic to have been taken so soon," added ICUL Vice President of Communications Kay Neidlinger. James is survived by her son, daughter, brother and five grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana 2626 East 17th Street Columbus, Ind. 47201.
