MADISON, Wis. – CUNA Mutual Group has made its “last, best, and final offer” to its employees who are members of the Office and Professional Employees International Union Local 39, and union members will have the chance to vote on the company's proposal starting April 14 after an informational meeting and continuing through April 16. After completing a review of the entire CUNA Mutual Group proposal with union negotiators, John Peterson, chief spokesperson for the union, informed CMG of the union's decision. “We are pleased that the employees will get to weigh in on this,” said CMG spokesperson Sydney Lindner. “Once they know the details, we believe that they'll see that this proposal contains one of the best wage and benefits packages in the area.” CMG's contract with the union expired on April 2. Lindner said Peterson informed CMG the union intends to recommend members not approve the company's proposal. “We are disappointed that the union's recommendation will be for the members to vote `no' to our proposal,” she said.
