The side-by-side ads on the front page story of the March 17 issue ("Dueling Ads: Banks and Credit Unions Take Arguments to Print") really got my attention. You don't have to agree with the bankers' position (message) to appreciate their superb ad (medium). It's masterful – great graphic, attention-grabbing color, well-known primary aphorism (If it walks like a duck…..), and a well-known secondary adage (If you play, you pay).
