ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Opportunity may be knocking for credit unions. A recent Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA) survey finds that most of the country's 11 million home-based businesses do not have proper business insurance coverage. The survey finds that one in 10 U.S. households operates some type of full or part-time home-based business. Nearly 60% of these businesses do not have insurance coverage. When asked why, 40% thought they were protected by some other type of coverage; 30% believe their business is too small to insure, and some 20% could not give a reason for not having insurance.
