WASHINGTON- CUNA and NAFCU met recently at CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference to discuss some priority issues for each of them. CUNA and NAFCU caucused under the auspices of the National Credit Union Legislative and Regulatory Coordinating Council, which was initiated at the time of the AT&T Family FCU case and H.R. 1151. Several issues were discussed during the meeting, including bankruptcy reform, broker dealer registrations, the status of NCUA Chairman Dennis Dollar who has served nearly a year beyond his term, past and ongoing General Accounting Office studies regarding credit unions, and attacks from the bankers. Both sides have kept mum about any further details of the meeting.
