DPS Credit Union, Denver, staffers have donated their time to help Denver Public Schools educate children on the value of money. DPS Credit Union in partnership with Denver Public Schools will continue conducting budgeting and money management seminars for children in grades K – 12. John Deere Community Credit Union, Waterloo, Iowa, has donated over $7,500 to area organizations. The following non-profit organizations have received funding for general programming: Waverly Child Care and Preschool, The Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley, Permanent Planning, Inc., Quakerdale and The Waverly Area Development Group. CommunityAmerica Credit Union, Lenexa, Kan.,has donated $10,000 to the Platte County Historical Society for the construction of a display showcasing the history of TWA. The display will be at the KCI Expo Center located near Kansas City International Airport. Texas Dow Employees Credit Union, Lake Jackson, Texas, has donated a total of $4,000 to three area schools on behalf of Bobby Ford Ford-Honda, Don Davis Dealerships, Gulf Coast Ford-Nissan-Toyota, and Leo Martin Chevrolet-Oldsmobile. After each dealer reached at least $1 million in sales through TDECU's "Dealer Direct" program, the money was awarded on behalf of the dealerships to the school of their choice to help fund school programs and foster academic excellence in its students. Dupaco Community Credit Union, Dubuque, Iowa, has raised $1,000 to benefit the Dubuque County Regional Emergency Responder Training Facility. The credit union hosted a benefit movie event featuring "Ice Age" as a fundraiser. Admission was 92 cents per person and all proceeds were donated to help fund construction of a new Dubuque County Regional Emergency Responder Training Facility designed to better train, equip, and prepare local emergency responders. See<>The St. Louis Postal CU team stands by their donations raised to benefit the children at Faith House. St. Louis Postal Credit Union, Mo., has raised $1,686 and collected a variety of new items for the children at Faith House, the credit union's 2003 adopted charity. The Faith House is the first children's home in the State of Missouri to care for children of substance abusing parents. The ages range from birth to 12. San Francisco Federal Credit Union, has sponsored a children's book drive in conjunction with The Bridge of Books Foundation. In just two weeks the credit union collected 1,258 books. In an effort to expose children to different worlds the Bridge of Books Foundation provides books to at-risk children in homeless shelters, foster care and after-school programs.
