ANKENY and WATERLOO, Iowa – Deere Community Credit Union is poised to merge with $848 million John Deere Community Credit Union on June 1. DCCU President Dennis Skelton said the merger with John Deere, the largest in the state with more than 104,000 members, means more branches, more resources and a greater capability to compete in an area he describes as a "marketplace that has been saturated with banks." "We are in a position to provide additional services to members," Skelton said. "The merger allows us the opportunity and helps to secure our own future. When the merger is finalized, Skelton will assume the role of vice president of strategic planning and development. Jean Trainor is the president/CEO of John Deere Community CU. Assets and membership for the combined credit unions would be more than $1 billion and more than 120,000, respectively. DCCU is the eleventh largest credit union in Iowa. [email protected]
