ALBANY, N.Y. - Empire Corporate has made free Check 21 information available on its Web site (www.empirecorp.org), and credit unions are eating it up. The corporate announced that since Nov. 5 when it posted the information, it has been accessed approximately 1,100 times. The materials available include the following: *A Check 21 Special Report providing information applicable to credit unions. *A Question and Answer Consumer Pamphlet credit unions can download, customize and print to help address their members' concerns/questions regarding Check 21. *A Special Edition of Empire's member operationally focused newsletter, Operational Insight, highlighting information specific to the corporate and its products and member relationships. Empire has also developed a series of Check 21 in-person educational sessions it will hold throughout the nation. This week alone four are taking place in South Dakota. The sessions cover an overview of Check 21, implications to credit unions and consumers, legal and disclosure issues as well as free for all Q&A.
