DENVER – Scott Earl, the former president and CEO of the Utah League and for years a leading national spokesman defending credit unions from bank attacks, is one of two finalists for the top staff job at the Colorado Credit Union System. Informed sources on the Colorado League's search committee confirmed to Credit Union Times that Earl, the high profile state League executive who quit the Utah League Nov. 30 "by mutual agreement," has been interviewed for the Colorado president/CEO position which has been vacant since September. The full Colorado League Board is to meet Jan. 21 to make a decision, according to the sources. Two weeks ago Colorado League Chairman Carla Hedrick, who also is president of Denver Community FCU, forecast a decision would be made by the League board "within a matter of weeks." Last October the League hired a Kansas City headhunter firm with suburban Denver offices, ESL Associates, to conduct a national recruiting search.
