Readers who haven't checked out the completely re-designed Credit Union Times Web site (www.cutimes.com) lately are missing out on three things. First, the only credit union electronic news source that is updated as many as 20 or more times each day. When news happens, it goes out on this site within minutes. (Simply hit the refresh button.) News is not accumulated and posted either once a day or the next day. These news items are also the most readable. The all-important home page features large and catchy headlines. The body copy runs across the entire page width. Although daily news items are written by more than a dozen different reporters located throughout the country (none in Ivory Towers), the writing style is consistently concise, objective, interesting, and very reader-friendly. Secondly, the Credit Union Times home page always showcases the only electronic reader poll that is an absolute no-brainer to use. As soon as a vote is cast, the poll is instantly updated by both percentages and total votes cast. All poll questions are on timely topics that are important to those involved with credit unions. They are changed frequently. Thirdly, the Credit Union Times home page is still the only one that is devoted 100% to credit union news and polls. Nothing else pops up when anyone logs on. No Web ads fighting for attention and space with the news. No annoying pop up boxes. No self-serving promos. Who says there is no free lunch? -
