ALEXANDRIA, Va.- NCUA keeps plugging along right on track with its original plans for the money-saving regional realignment plan, which will reduce the agency from six regions to five. NCUA asked that credit unions and others to begin contacting Region VI at its new office headquarters in Tempe, Ariz. as of Nov. 1. NCUA will be closing its Region IV office, currently based in Chicago, April 3, 2004 to achieve this goal. Region IV will operate with a reduced workload, just serving Wisconsin, after the start of the New Year until it permanently closes. Starting Jan. 1, 2004, the regions will transfer the workload among the new five-region structure and the Concord, Calif. Region VI office will officially close. The realignment was part of NCUA Chairman Dennis Dollar’s Accountability in Management initiative. The following is a look at the new regional setup and the regional directors. -
