MADISON, Wis. – NASCUS Acting President/CEO Mary Martha Fortney and CU Financial Services President Alan Theriault will participate in a question and answer format panel discussion on "The Charter Conversion Controversy" at CUES' upcoming CEO Network Conference. The four-day conference will take place Nov. 2-5 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Fla. CUES Spokesman George Hofheimer said Fortney was invited to represent NASCUS to offer the dual chartering perspective on the controversial issue of credit unions converting to thrift charters. Theriault was invited because of his expertise in consulting with credit unions on converting to thrift charters. "We want to generate a dialogue on this controversial topic," said Hofheimer, "and educate members on the issue." The panel discussion will be moderated by Bob Hoel, executive director of The Filene Research Institute.
