HARRISBURG, Pa. – The board of directors of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association committed to raise $120,000 from affiliated credit unions to sponsor the Capitol View Room at the Credit Union House in Washington, D.C. and rename it "the Pennsylvania Room." PCUA chairman Ron Lasich said "Pennsylvania played a pivotal role in the passage of the Credit Union Membership Access Act of 1998, and having this room renamed would be an enduring testament to our state's efforts." Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D), one of the original sponsors of H.R. 1151, is from Pennsylvania. PCUA Board member John Kebles, president/CEO, Choice One FCU, Wilkes-Barre, will spearhead the fundraising efforts. The other 20 board members will serve as fundraising co-chairs. The board plans to have fundraising completed for a dedication ceremony during CUNA's 2005 Governmental Affairs Conference.
