I thought Mike Welch's July 6th column on the recent NAFCU Conference ("NAFCU Conference Tops Despite Tired Format") was right on the mark. I recently returned from the Directors Conference and Expo in Las Vegas. Maybe there should be a rule that you can't sit with anyone you know. Frankly, for me, one of the primary benefits of such meetings is the chance to meet with others. There's a lot of wisdom and experience just waiting to be tapped. I consciously try to sit with people I don't know. I have the rest of the year to talk with those I do. John Steele Director LA Financial CU Pasadena, Calif.
