MADISON, Wis. – The Society of National Association Publications' (SNAP) has honored CUNA for its Home & Family Finance Resource Center, an online consumer content for credit union Web sites. The site brought home the Gold in the Online Publishing, Web Site-Special Members Area category. "We're delighted to receive this recognition for such a worthwhile product," said Susan Tiffany, director, credit union consumer publishing. "The Resource Center lets credit unions add meaty personal finance content to the products and services information their Web sites already explain. And credit unions can customize the content so that members link, for example, to auto lending rates, credit card features, full family membership, or whatever they are looking to promote at that time." The Home & Family Finance Resource Center provides daily consumer news updates, and adds at least one feature article per week. "The content always has a distinctly credit union point of view," says Jim Hanson, vice president of CUNA Center for Personal Finance. "We also try to draw members in by soliciting individual consumer experiences with interactive features like `What's Your Story' and the `Snap Survey.'" Magazines, newsletters, scholarly journals, electronic publications and Web sites are judged in areas such as design, content, presentation, originality and general excellence. Nearly 900 entries were submitted this year. Sponsored annually by SNAP, the EXCEL Awards program recognizes and rewards exemplary work by association publishers.
