MADISON, Wis. – CUNA Mutual Group and CUNA Lending Council are accepting nominations through July 31 for the 2003 Credit Union Excellence in Lending Awards. This is the fourth year the awards are being held. Four credit unions will receive awards – two each in consumer lending and mortgage lending, to CUs with more than $250 million in assets and to those with less than $250 million in assets. Award winners will be recognized at the CUNA Lending Council Annual Conference that will be held Nov. 2-5 in Indian Wells, Calif. Credit unions that want to nominate themselves or another credit union can receive an application on CUNA Mutual’s Web site – www.cunamutual.com, Click on Resources, then Lending Resources, and then `2003 Excellence in Lending Awards.” Applications are also available by phone – (800) 356-2644, ext. 3214, or email, [email protected] Judges for this year’s awards include: Fawn Terwilliger, vp of credit services, Arizona State Savings and CU, Glendale, Ariz.; Joe Brancucci, vp of lending and chief lending officer, Boeing Employees CU, Tukwila, Wash.; Jim McCourt, svp, CUNA Mutual Mortgage Corp.; Bill Klewin, assistant vp, CUNA Mutual Group; Phil Greer, svp and chief lending officer, State Employees CU, Raleigh, N.C.; Linda Winkfein, vp of lending services, Texas Credit Union League; Herb Behrens, mortgage lending director, Baxter CU, Vernon Hills, Ill.; and Florence Brown, vp of operations, FORUM CU, Indianapolis, Ind.
