ALEXANDRIA, Va.-According to the latest NCUA Regional Director's Actions Taken Under Insurance Report of Activity, credit unions continue to add new potential members in low-income areas. Fourteen credit unions added more than 1.7 million new potential members from 15 underserved areas alone during the month of April. The largest came from Chartway Federal Credit Union of Virginia Beach adding nearly 300,000 new potential members in one underserved addition. Credit unions have added nearly 6.1 million new potential members in underserved areas so far this year.
