PEORIA, Ill.- To show their appreciation for those serving in the U.S. military, CEFCU employees have sent 18 "Thank You" gifts. The packages included items such as: candy, playing cards, note cards, and frisbees. "It's important that the troops and their families know they continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. We appreciate their efforts and hope for a safe return," said CEFCU Vice President Sue Yoder. The "Thank You" packages were sent to active military personnel deployed in "Operation Enduring Freedom." In addition, CEFCU employees have raised $1,067 for the American Red Cross "Operation Helping Hands" project. This project raises money to help the families of soldiers while their loved ones are serving in active duty. Funds raised will be used to purchase gift certificates to assist the families with groceries and daily essentials. CEFCU staffers also displayed photographs of their family and friends serving overseas on the credit union's Intranet site, "CEFCU Central."
