RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – More than $166,000 was raised in one day by the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues' Annual Phone Bank for their federal and state political action committees. Last year's telethon raised money solely for the federal PAC, and that garnered $44,000. This year it was expanded to include the state PACs. The combined goal was $150,000. This year's May 12th seven-hour telethon raised $47,575 for the leagues' federal PACs, and $118,450 for their state PACs. Among the 13 credit union CEOs and volunteers who manned the phones to raise the money was League President/CEO David Chatfield. The Leagues said they expect the total amount of money raised to increase as more contributions come in.
