ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA has tapped Senior Staff Attorney Mike McKenna to become the agency’s new deputy executive director. McKenna worked as a temporary executive assistant for both former NCUA Board Member Geoff Bacino and Board Member Deborah Matz, which helped broaden his experience at NCUA. “He was just a terrific choice. He is bright, hard-working, has an excellent sense of humor, gets along with everyone, and makes everyone he works for look good,” Matz said. “I think they made an excellent choice. He pointed out that McKenna has served on the interagency fair lending working group, as well as NCUA’s Foreign Branching Committee and Oversight Policy Board for the Office of Financial Insurance Adjudication. Perhaps more prominent to the credit union community, McKenna is the chairman of the Field of Membership Taskforce. He said that for now, he would remain the head of that group.
