Board Member Characterizations Not Familiar

I just read Mike Welch’s April 16th column entitled, “Recognize Any of These CU Board Members?” and was surprised at the way in which he categorized typical past or present board members. While I can’t speak for previous boards at my CU (I’ve only been CEO for 2 years), I can tell you that my current board is comprised of mostly, “Level-Headed, Reasonable and Fair” business men and women with no particular twisted agenda. I can only hope that I’m afforded the opportunity to continue to work with these fine folks for many years to come. Mike’s categorizations seemed a bit cynical to me, and seemed to diminish the great work that so many board members are doing across the industry.
