ALEXANDRIA, Va.-In a recent Regulatory Alert, NCUA Chairman Dennis Dollar announced that the agency would remind all federally insured credit unions quarterly to check the Office of Foreign Asset Control's list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons. "[H]owever, since orders requiring blocking or freezing of assets are effective immediately upon publication on OFAC's Web site, you should periodically check the site at www.treas.gov/ofac," Dollar encouraged. In the alert, the chairman noted that Treasury's OFAC had amended its SDN list at least 20 times since November and emphasized the importance of checking the list at www.treas.gov/offices/enforcement/ofac/sdn/index.html or by calling to OFAC Fax-on-Demand Service at (202) 622-0077. A live link to the 84-page document is included in the Regulatory Alert at NCUA's Web site.
