DES MOINES, Iowa – Dupaco Community CU, DuTrac Community CU, Collins Community CU and Iowa Community CU were recognized by the Iowa Finance Authority as being among the top 25 community mortgage lenders in the state's 2002 FirstHome program that facilitates affordable mortgage financing for qualified homebuyers in Iowa. Only two credit union made it to the 2001 list. Dupaco Community CU, ranked seventh and made 58 FirstHome loans totaling $2,929,932. In 2001 year, the credit union ranked ninth. DuTrac CCU, ranked 21st in 2002 compared to 19th In 2001, made 30 loans for $2,021,395. Iowa CCU and Collins CCU are new to the top 25 list. Iowa CCU ranked 14th and made 28 FirstHome loans totaling $2,493,762, and Collins CCU made 21 loans totaling $1,668,837 and took 25th place. In 2002, nearly 1,800 borrowers purchased their homes using FirstHome. More than 300 lenders participate in the program.
