Landmark Credit Union, New Berlin, Wis., has raised $15,135 selling $1 "Links" and $10 "Hearts" during the "Credit Unions for Kids Chain of Hearts" national fund raising campaign. All funds raised will supports the Children's Miracle Network hospitals throughout the U.S. The total funds raised this year surpassed the 2002 total by 27% and beat the credit union's 2003 goal by 12%. Steel Works Community Federal Credit Union, Weirton, W. Va., has donated to the Challenger Learning Center at Wheeling Jesuit University. The Challenger Learning Center helps bring the dream of space travel to life for children. Student CLC visitors are given the opportunity to climb aboard a space station, conduct scientific experiments, and work together to solve problems. California Credit Union League, Rancho Cucamonga, has raised $5,275 for the Richard Myles Johnson Foundation during the Big Valley Educational Conference. A raffle was held featuring three different travel packages, including a travel voucher for Royal Caribbean cruise lines. All proceeds from the raffle will support Foundation programs. Printing expenses for the raffle tickets were donated by the League's Business Services department.
