SANTA ANA, Calif. – As the 2002 grand prize winners of Orange County's Credit Union's Members First Awards competition, Information Systems Specialist Margo Wassenaar and Ross Street Branch Member Service Representative Christina Williams are driving home in new cars. Both employees are enjoying a one-year company-paid lease with extra money for gas and insurance for their new Jeep Liberty SUV and Chrysler Sebring Convertible. "We are proud of our employees and want to recognize the tremendous efforts of those who consistently go the extra distance to provide exceptional member service," said OCCU President/CEO Judy McCartney. "Our Members First superstars take good care of our credit union members, and we want to take good care of them." When a co-worker consistently makes the effort to provide exceptional service, peers can submit a written nomination describing that co-worker's efforts. Each month, a team of managers and associates reviews the nominations and a monthly winner is selected. The monthly winner receives $250 in cash and is eligible for the grand prize award at the end of the year. Winners are announced during OCCU's Associate Enrichment Day. The 2003 grand prize award will be two first class tickets to Hawaii, hotel accommodations, a week of paid time off and $1,000 in spending money.
