BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Add another credit union to the billion dollar club – APCO Employees Credit Union topped $1 billion in total assets in February The credit union held a special celebration on February 18th to commemorate the billion-dollar mark. One lucky member received approximately one hour’s interest on a $1 billion share account, which equaled $3,200 in the credit union’s “Hour on the House” contest. “We are grateful to our members for their loyalty and support that has enabled us to reach the $1 billion mark. We will always strive to provide them with quality financial services,” said Larry Morgan, President of APCO Employees Credit Union. APCO Employees Credit Union primarily serves employees and family members of Alabama Power Company, Southern Company Services, and Southern Nuclear as well as a number of other related companies. It has 55,000 members.
