COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Senate Education Committee unanimously passed a bill, S. 258, that requires personal finance education in all high schools that are supported by public funds. The bill also includes provisions for the South Carolina Department of Education to help school districts identify appropriate materials to provide the instruction. S. 258, introduced Jan. 22 by Sen. Chauncey Gregory (R-16), now goes to the full Senate for consideration.
