The New York State Credit Union League used the event as a backdrop to present Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-N.Y.) with their 2002 Legislator of the Year Award. The award, presented by League President/CEO Bill Mellin, recognizes a distinguished legislator who has shown outstanding commitment to issues of importance to New York credit unions. Mellin thanked Crowley for his co-sponsorship and support of bankruptcy reform legislation. The congressman pledged to continue to work for bankruptcy reform.
