The article "Clark Out as Shaughnessy is Named Interim President of CUANJ; New Jersey CUs in Wait and See Mode" that ran in the Feb. 19 issue of Credit Union Times listed United Teletech Federal Credit Union with the names of a few credit unions that disaffiliated from their association with the Credit Union Affiliates of New Jersey (CUANJ). The description further implied that our dissatisfaction with the league led to our making this decision. This was an incorrect depiction of our relationship with our state's trade association. We are, and have been, a dues paying member of the state league for many years. In fact, representatives from our credit union have volunteered to serve in various leadership capacities at the league. We have chosen to remain an affiliate of the league and work to support change from within the organization rather than disaffiliate and potentially damage the ability of the association to help credit unions in New Jersey. Having had our credit union included in this way has been an embarrassment for our credit union, our board and the members of our team that volunteer their time with the CUANJ. This situation could have been avoided if our credit union had been contacted to verify the accuracy of the information provided. Leo Ardine President/CEO United Teletech FCU Tinton Falls, N.J.
