HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. – With a push to focus on younger markets, credit unions throughout the state are offering thousands of dollars in scholarships. As part of the effort, some credit unions are participating in a Youth Exchange Scholarship Program, which awards three $5,000 grants and 35 $1,000 grants to winners from a nationwide pool of applicants. In addition, Credit Union Affiliates of New Jersey (CUANJ) is providing ten, $500 scholarships through member credit unions. “We offer the scholarships to college bound members as a form of financial assistance, but we also hope that we can attract them as members of credit unions, and teach them our message of financial literacy and financial stability through NEFE programs,” said Mary Moulds, CUANJ Assistant Vice President of Education and Training.
