WASHINGTON-The Senate Banking Committee has scheduled a hearing on the deposit insurance system during the last day of CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference. The hearing, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 26, is expected to include testimony from: *Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan; *Treasury Undersecretary for Domestic Finance Peter Fisher; *Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Chairman Don Powell; *Comptroller of the Currency John Hawke, Jr.; and *Office of Thrift Supervision Deputy Director Richard Riccobono. CUNA Senior Vice President of Government Affairs John McKechnie said CUNA staff would definitely be attending the hearing and that interested GAC attendees would be encouraged to go as well.
