ALEXANDRIA, Va.-The Federal Emergency Management Agency director recently wrote NCUA Chairman Dennis Dollar complimenting the agency on its leadership during the coverage gap in the National Flood Insurance Program. "During the hiatus in authority for the NFIP, your organization provided unquestioned leadership to its constituents. Many questions surfaced about the effects the hiatus would have on the operations of the NFIP, and your organization coordinated closely with us and gave clear direction to your constituent," the letter read. The Jan. 14 letter also informed the agency that the president had signed the National Flood Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2003 into law the previous day.
