Pacific Resource Credit Union, Los Angeles, Calif., has announced that after 28 years of service, of which eight were spent as board chairman, John Smith is retiring. Smith served through a number of crucial transitions including the merger of ARCO Federal Credit Union with ARCO Wilshire Federal Credit Union and later with the ARCO Los Angeles Refinery Credit Union; switching from a federal credit union to a state and community-chartered credit union; and the name change to Pacific Resource Credit Union. Smith and his wife will begin a new chapter of their lives in the scenic mountainous region of western North Carolina.
