Any way you measure it, the year 2002 is wrapping up as a great year for Credit Union Times, our best in our 12 years of being in business. On the revenue side, new records were set in total dollars and pages run for both display and classified advertising. Paid subscriptions also reached an all-time high. And editorial output hit new highs. Not only did the number of individual news stories and features increase substantially over the previous year, but issues were regularly held beyond normal deadline to cover such important events as NCUA Board meetings and legislative actions. The total number of pages printed and also those posted on cutimes.com Web site, skyrocketed in 2002. By way of example in the print area, if Credit Union Times were a monthly rather than a weekly, last September would have represented a 260 page single issue. Weekly issues now run between 40 and 120 pages each. Special reports and letters to the editor also saw dramatic growth. The reach of Credit Union Times was increased too. Hot-off-the-press issues were made available throughout the year at a record number of credit union meetings, both in conference exposition halls and at individual hotel room doors. Finally, a mid-year independent readership survey set several records in terms of response rate, satisfaction levels, and the highest reader ratings by specific categories ever. Credit unions are understandably proud of their considerable accomplishments. So are we. To our loyal readers and advertisers, our staff and stockholders say thank you for making 2002 a great year!
