HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. -This holiday season the Credit Union Affiliates of New Jersey wants credit unions to be as popular and well known as Santa. Consumers statewide tuning into New Jersey Network Television will see the CUNA public education advertising spot "So/Quick/Ok," which highlight facts about credit unions. The three, 15-second spots will also feature a toll-free number to the CUANJ, as well as their Web site, www.cuanj.org. Consumers interested in determining their eligibility will be able to go onto the Web site and follow links to the CU Match Up program, developed and operated by the California Credit Union League. According to CUANJ Public Relations Director Evan Childs, the spots are the first step of its marketing strategy to bridge the gap for consumers looking for financial services alternatives here. "One of the biggest factors in the trends of our market penetration in New Jersey, is the lack of public awareness of the credit union difference," said Childs. "So we recognize that the first step must be public education." NJN Television reaches over 2.8 million households and is also carried on all cable systems in the state.
