HAWTHORNE, Calif. – TRW Systems Federal Credit Union and Western Federal Credit Union have announced plans to merge by the end of 2003. TRWSFCU will retain its charter as the continuing credit union, which will be named Western Federal Credit Union and remain headquartered here. Dubbed a "merger of equals" the new $1 billion credit union will be headed by John A. Bommarito as CEO, Thomas J. Stewart as president and governed by an 11-member board of directors. The new organization will serve over 125,000 members.
