ARLINGTON, Va. – Republican's taking control of the U.S. Senate is not likely to change the CDFI funding for this year, according to Jennfer Vasiloff, executive director of the Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Coalition. The CDFI Coalition monitors Congressional actions affecting the U.S. Treasury Department's CDFI Fund. Vasiloff said she believed the funding process was already so late that each house was going to want to wrap up the funding measures as soon as possible and go home. The two chambers would likely even dispense with individual floor votes and instead vote once on the large spending bill. The real challenge will be in dealing with the different personalities and priorities in the next leadership, she said.
