ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA Chairman Dennis Dollar has announced a New England "Access Across America" workshop sponsored by the agency to be held November 14. The workshop, happening in Westborough, Mass., will focus on partnership opportunities for credit unions with the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation (NRC) and its NeighborWorks System. "This workshop will open the door to homeownership for many credit union members who have not had access to mortgages services in the past," said Matz, who will be on-site hosting the event. "Homeownership is key to realizing the American dream and credit unions, partnering with NRC and NeighborWorks, can make the dream a reality for millions of families." The program is designed specifically for credit union CEOs and managers who plan to or currently provide services to underserved areas in Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts. The workshop will include presentations from the NRC, local NeighborWorks organizations, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and credit unions already working with NeighborWorks. NCUA Board Member Deborah Matz will host the workshop, which will be co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Credit Union League.
