ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU has brought in another Hill staffer to add to its list of lobbyists pounding the Hill for federal credit unions. Dillon Shea joined NAFCU's legislative team August 26 as associate director of legislative affairs. He left the office of House Financial Services Committee Member Darlene Hooley (D-Ore.)-where he has served since 2000, most recently as a legislative aide-to join the trade organization. Shea's responsibilities included advising Hooley on legislative matters; generating support for legislation; and drafting floor remarks, legislation, and committee testimony. He represented the congresswoman with several civic and business groups in Washington, D.C. and in Oregon. Shea's research and lobbying efforts focused on financial services, housing, health care, education and Social Security. Prior to working in Hooley's office, he interned with state Representative Carolyn Tomei as a liaison on affordable housing Shea is a 1998 recipient of the Charles Sprague Award for excellence in journalism and holds a bachelor's degree in politics from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, where he also minored in history.
